What’s New Around The Blogosphere: June 10th, 2011

I wrote earlier in the week about how we have been using the 3 day potty training method on our daughter.  I’m happy to report that so far it has been very successful, with just a couple of accidents.  The transition went fairly smooth for her, although my wife might disagree 😉

Next week I’m off to Orlando for a work-related conference.  Since I’ll be down there anyway, is it acceptable to go to Disney World without my wife and daughter?  I’d like to think of it as a scouting trip to determine whether or not we should take a future family vacation there.  Let’s see how well that goes over.

On Wednesday I had a guest post published over at Young and Thrifty called Gold Plated Pensions – A Blessing or a Curse? Go on over and check it out.

  1. Thanks for writing such a great guest post, Echo!

    I love work-related extension trips! I think its completely acceptable you’re taking your family on vacation- that sounds like a lot of fun. Have fun in Orlando- you must be excited for the sun.

    • Disney World without the wife and kid?! I won’t be showing this post to my girlfriend anytime soon especially since I refuse to go with her to Disneyland. I don’t think I would dare enter that place alone…unless by force. You’re a better man than I! :)

      • Hi Jon, I’m not saying that I will go on my own…but the conference is at a hotel just a few blocks away, wouldn’t it be worth it to take a peek inside?

  2. Potty training is fun times, isn’t it?

    Well, maybe not. We’ll probably be starting on our youngest potty training this summer.

    Thanks for the mention and best of luck!

  3. @Y&T – It was my pleasure to write the guest post…glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately the family is not coming with me, but maybe next time 😉

    @FFB – We figured we would try it while we’re in our rental place this summer, befire we move into the new house. So far so good. Good luck with yours!

    @Mike – I’ll just be glad to be a diaper free house…for now :)

    My wife seems to think that since I’ll be staying so close to Disneyworld that I’ll be going there, which is not likely the case. Maybe Universal Studios though…

  4. Our son just turned two so potty training is on the horizon. We’re probably going to wait a few more months as he’s shown no interest plus he will be a big brother (any day now) and that will be a big enough adjustment for the immediate future.
